Keilana's Story

Keilana
Age 11
Seattle Children's Hospital
Brain Tumor

Completing the finishing touches, Keilana places the sketch of another beautiful dress in her beloved “Dress Folder.” This is the start of Keilana’s fashion career and future dress boutique. She then energetically dances down the stairs to her cancer support group program, where she inspires others to never give up.

At 9 months old, Keilana’s parents found an unusual bulge on their daughter’s head. Concerned by her lethargic behavior and excessive vomiting, Keilana’s parents rushed her to the hospital.

Keilana was diagnosed with a rare cancerous brain tumor called primitive neuroectodermal tumor. Doctors confirmed it had already spread to her spine. For two years, she had three rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and three stem cell transplants. Her winning spirit never gave up.

Despite many complications, Keilana’s cancer went into remission. She now loves dancing and strumming her guitar. With a bright future ahead, Keilana continues to design those stunning dresses, hoping to be the next Coco Chanel.

  1. Hi Keilana,

I met you at Disney outside the Mt Everest ride. I was on the yellow scooter.
What a beautiful little girl you are. I enjoyed our talk very much and feel so blessed to have met you. I will remember the twinkle in your eyes, the big smile on your face and the hug we shared. May all your dreams come true....Karen
